My name is Dr. Kevin Kellerman. I’ve been practicing dentistry since 2002. I’m lucky enough to have three other doctors work with me and on the daily, we just have a lot of fun and we enjoy serving our community. I’m really proud of the team we have. I feel like what makes us special is really the commitment and the desire to serve from our whole team.

Well. My name is Jesse Snyder. I am a dentist here at Kellerman Dental. My favorite part of dentistry is just having the variety of patients come in and I’m able to help everyone that really comes in here and needs some help. So able to send them away with a better smile out of pain is something that I really, really enjoy doing.

I’m Dr. Jessica Gwen. I am an associate dentist here at Kellerman Dental, and I get to serve the wonderful people in Glen Carbon. I was actually an art major in college. I was going between science and art the whole time. I couldn’t really decide, and then I saw dentistry as an opportunity to meld the two because someone smile. You see that every day. That’s what brings you confidence in being able to make sure that you give someone the best looking smile. That also is functional is something that is really important to me.

The collaboration we have with each other is really fantastic. We help each other see things that maybe we wouldn’t be able to see on our own. And I think through that collaboration, we’re able to come up with more ideal care for our patients. Patients a lot of times find it inconvenient if they need to find another specialist practice to visit or go somewhere else for care. So because we have so many providers, we’re really able to provide almost everything someone would need for their oral health.

Hey everyone. I just have some exciting news to share with you all. Most of you have been here by now. You’ve seen this amazing expansion that we’ve been able to accomplish within our practice, and with that expansion comes, some new doctors have joined our team. I’m happy to announce that I’m now working with Dr. Jessica Wynn and Dr. Jesse Snyder. The two of them also joined me and Dr. Connolly. I know we’re all really looking forward to serving you and meeting your expectations in the way that we always have. I want you guys to know that I’ve hand-selected these two new doctors and we share similar philosophies of care, and there’s no doubt in my mind that you’ll have a great experience no matter who you see here at Kellerman Dental.

What separates us from probably the typical dental practice is I feel like our team is family, and we feel the same way about our patients. We know our patients by name and we’re genuinely interested in getting to know them. It all starts from the beginning where we really take a deep dive with them to really understand where they’ve been, where they are now, and where they want to go. What we found is that really creates that foundation of trust that leads to the best outcomes. I tell patients every day I would treat you the same. I would treat myself or my family member that controls my philosophy of care for our patients.

Something that sets Kellerman Dental apart from other offices is not only the technology, but the way we implement it and utilize it. So it’s not just that we have fancy machines and things that can get you same day crowns or get you night guards within a day. It’s that we’re utilizing it to actually help you and get you results that can last you a lifetime.

The whole Kelman team, they’re just great. You come here and I have a hard time remembering people’s name, but they never forget mine. So it’s like after 18 years, it’s like family. I’m most proud about the practice we’ve built over the past 20 years is just really the strength and the commitment of our team. We come here every day to do our best, and based on the feedback that we’ve received through the years, I feel like we are making a difference.

Invisalign is something that I’m really passionate about. I think that it is a great way to not only give you function back to your teeth, but also give you a really nice looking smile. So whether or not you just have a couple crooked teeth that you’re hoping to fix, or you have issues where you’re clenching and grinding your jaw, you have pain. Invisalign is something that can help you with that, and so many people are actually able to do Invisalign rather than traditional braces, and they just don’t know it. Some of the misconceptions people have about Invisalign is that it might not work as well as traditional braces, but there’s actually so many clinical studies where it can be more effective and faster than traditional braces.

The great thing about Invisalign, it’s really for all ages. Any adult is eligible for Invisalign and even teenagers are great candidates for Invisalign. The process of getting started with Invisalign is really simple. We use a camera to take four or five photos of your teeth, and we use our digital scanner to record the position of your teeth, which we then send to the Invisalign lab. We love using the iTero scanner in our office. It’s much more comfortable than traditional goopy impressions, and the results are a lot more predictable.

Dental implants are really versatile. They can do a lot of different jobs to help you restore your oral health. They can replace one or two teeth that stand alone or they can help hold a denture in. And the cool thing about dental implants are the ease of which we can perform them. I had an implant because I had a tooth that failed. It really was much easier than I ever thought, and then it didn’t hurt at all. So I was really impressed with not only the procedure, how it went, but also the recovery. It was just fantastic. Dental implants are basically a titanium screw that is put into your jaw. Your body does a really cool thing where it actually bonds to that implant, so then we’re able to put a crown and a tooth on top of that implant and it is the best replacement option for your teeth. The healing process was so fast. I mean, it was just amazing. So I would recommend anybody on the fence come see Dr. Kellerman and he will make it good for you. One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is hearing people’s success stories after their implants have been completed. They tell me about how they’re able to enjoy the foods they’ve used to enjoy and now they can enjoy again. How they’re able to smile with confidence again because they’re missing tooth has been replaced, and just to see their faces light up when they have that part of their life back is really unbelievable.

A good patient experience to me is really very simple. My goal is for the patient to feel better about the day when they’re leaving the practice than they did when they entered the practice. I get it. I understand being in a dental chair isn’t probably the most comfortable place to be, but at the same time, my job is to help change the perception of what it’s like to visit a dental office. I start by asking the patient, what are your goals for your teeth? What would you like your new smile to look like? We’re here to help you in the way that you want to be helped, and your care is your choice. My goal is to simply give you your best options based on what you told me your goals are. You’re the driver. I’m here to help you get there.

Dr. Kellerman is extremely professional. He’s kind. He’s very good at listening to what you’re here for and just keeps you very comfortable. The girls in the office and the nurses and dental techs are just wonderful, great communication. I just love the whole atmosphere.

I know that I’m going forward all the time, but no one has forgotten about me, and I believe that’s the way every business should conduct business, that you don’t feel like an outsider. I feel like I belong here and I feel family.

Here in our office, we found that a lot of our patients really value the idea of having sedation dentistry. The best candidates for sedation dentistry are the people who have maybe put off going to the dentist for one, two, or seven or eight years or more, or patients who just get really worked up and they just don’t look forward to their visit. So we found that through sedation dentistry, we can really ease their fears, calm their bodies, and put them in a state where they’re more relaxed and able to get the treatment that they really want. We have several sedation options for patients in our practice. We have nitrous oxide, we also do oral sedation, and we also do IV sedation. One common question our patients have about our sedation options are, how deeply will I be sedated? Will it be like I’m having surgery in the hospital? The answer is no. We don’t sedate you to a point where you’re unconscious. You’re always able to breathe on your own and you will fall asleep, but we’ll be able to wake you up just by shaking your arm or speaking loudly.

I had implants put in underneath here, and the process wasn’t bad because he does sedation, which is really nice. I mean, I have a fear of dental work, so it really helped out a lot, and I’m really happy with my smile.

We utilize technology in our practice really for just a few reasons. It’s a more comfortable visit, fewer appointments, and better results. One of the pieces of technology we utilize on the daily basis are digital scanners. Digital scanners are great because they’ve replaced those kind of bulky, uncomfortable, big impression trays with the gooey stuff going all over your mouth. The nice thing about our digital Skinner is they have this huge touchscreen, just like an iPad, and it really can show the patient what their teeth look like in real life, and we’re able to move the image around so the patient can really have a thorough understanding of where their oral health is and the needs that they may require.

Let’s talk about sleep apnea because in our practice we do like to be very comprehensive, and while sleep apnea is traditionally thought of as a medical condition, dentists can help with sleep apnea as well, and we do sleep apnea really is pretty simple. It’s when you’re not breathing well when you sleep. The reason sleep apnea is on a dentist radar is because the size of our tongue, the size of our jaw, the position of our tongue and jaw while we sleep, all are really the main contributors to sleep apnea. Traditionally, the most common, and I think maybe the most extreme way to treat sleep apnea is through A-C-P-A-P machine. Many people find CCP a P machines to be uncomfortable and cumbersome, and we can make a device for you that’s much smaller, yet as effective. The device itself is very similar to a night guard.

This device will reposition your job bed at night, opens up your airway so you can breathe better, and you’re able to continue to breathe throughout the night. Sleep apnea is a subject that hits close to home for me, and this is one of the reasons I have a lot of passion for it to help other people too. Before I wasn’t sleeping well, I was snoring. Long story short, I was diagnosed with sleep apnea. I made myself a device. I really can’t go without it. I love to wear it. I feel better in the morning, and it goes with me everywhere I go. I would say one of the main benefits that we’ve discovered from patients who have had sleep apnea devices made is that they’re finally getting a good night’s sleep.
